This fills in the gaps of the three BACK TO THE FUTURE movies, from how Doc first met Marty, to Doc's life with his new wife out in the Old West. We learn how Doc and Marty first met, and became his assistant. Then, it's to the Old West, where Doc Brown is married, has his two sons, and is working on a new time travel device, the Train. I think my favorite, though, is when we're shown what happened to old Biff when he stole the Delorean and Almanac at the beginning of BTTF 2. Another story has Doc visiting his future self in 2-and finds that he is locked away, with a lobotomy, in a mental asylum, which gives him more motivation of changing the events from that movie.
Much more is also shown of Doc and his wife's life in the Old West. All in all, this is a cool book written by the screenwriter of the movies. Everything fits together quite well. Recommended.
