In the far future Modyun, one of the last remaining humans, ventures out from beyond the protective barrier to discover a strange world run by intelligent, humanoid animals. For thousands of years mankind had changed, became smaller with larger heads, so in order for him to go on this mission he must grow himself a new, large body, and this new physiology starts to affect how he thinks.
He befriends a group of animal-men and goes to their city, posing as an 'ape', but the city does not recognize him as a citizen, which causes some problems. And then there are the Hyena-men, who seem to be in charge of the planet, though all animals are supposed to be equal - or at least they were until the conquering aliens gave them more power. Instead of being able to reclaim the planet he may become the last living human.
This book is BRAVE NEW WORLD meets THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU and PLANET OF THE APES.
