This continuation of the original Battlestar Galactica television series by Dynamite is done right.
This volume collects the first five issues, in which the Galactica deploys a time-travel device invented by Dr. Zee. However, it radically changes reality and Apollo and Starbuck find themselves in an alternative timeline where Adama was never commander of a Battlestar and Dr Zee is working with the Cylons. Also, the traitor Baltar has been merged with the cylon Lucifer and is now known as Baltifer. The two buddies get separated- Apollo meets this different version of Adama and also Serena (his wife, who died in the pilot). Starbuck encounters an older and fatter version of himself, who eventually comes around to becoming a hero.
This is a very cool story. I like that the illustrations resemble the actors from the series and also that it ties in with the 1980 series, though I'm still ambivalent about that show. Highly recommended.
