Author: Tim LebbonOn the anniversary of the death of his son in a supposed 'Friendly-fire' mishap, Tom and his wife rent out a cottage near the spot to commemorate the day. Although Steven was killed ten years before, it's something that still haunts him. But when a stranger informs Tom that his son was killed by monsters created on the army base-and gives him a hand drawn map where the bodies are buried, he begins a path that can only have a horrible ending.Tom goes to the spot in the forest and digs up the remains of many soldiers. He also uncovers what appears to be the corpse of a young girl, covered in chains. Yet she is somehow still alive and is able to communicate with him in his thoughts. While a part of him knows this is insane, he nevertheless helps her get away from the area before a man she refers to as Mr. Wolf, catches up to them. He was a soldier those ten years before and knows exactly what type of creature this little girl is. His sole purpose to hunt her down and make sure their kind is destroyed. If other innocent people get in his way, so be it.But what is her kind? Are they creatures of legend who were somehow enhanced by the army experiments? And what is she going to do with her benefactor, Tom, when she's done using him? Tim Lebbon's newest novel is a fresh take on the vampire/werewolf mythos that manages to not only be a highly entertaining read it's also quite creepy.Available from Leisure Books at www.dorchesterpub.com
