Take a bestselling novelist. His agent. His playwright friend. A photographer/reporter. The novelist's wife. And mistress. Put them all on a camping trip together in the deep woods for some documented R & R. (And no, this isn't the making of a new reality-TV show!)Add a crazy recluse that haunts these woods to the proceedings. Not a legendary 'masked maniac' type of guy, but a deranged Rambo that is surviving life after 'Nam by tending to a hidden marijuana crop. The intrusion by the city slickers is too much for our man to bear. He attacks with a vengeance and our group of campers must fight for their lives. Who will live and what will be left of them?Jack Ketchum's novel is far better than the pulp thriller I've just described. Every character is really fleshed out and you can relate to them all, even the 'Nam guy on a rampage. He has his reasons, his motives, his territory, and you almost sympathize with him at times.Once the terror and action begin, it's unrelenting. Think FRIDAY THE 13th (with adult characters!) meets FIRST BLOOD meets THE HILLS HAVE EYES. You won't be disappointed with this book, it delivers the action and violence at breakneck pace. Ketchum has never been in finer form and this is one of his most underrated books, in my humble opinion. Check it out today. That's right, RIGHT NOW. Head over to amazon.com and type the name in there. Open your wallet. And make the purchase!
