DEAD LINES is an intriguing ghost story that takes place in the near future. It also does for the cell phone what ROSEMARY'S BABY did for hooded baby carriages.
Peter Russell is a former director who is now a glorified "gofer" for an old producer friend of his. He's gone through a divorce and one of his twin daughters was mysteriously killed years before.
He's offered a position at a new company which has come up with a device called TRANS, sort of a crystal clear cell phone that uses a newly discovered bandwith. Unfortunately, this is the same
bandwith that the dead use.
The more he uses the TRANS, the more the wall between the living and the dead falls away...
DEAD LINES is an excellent read. It's intriguing, creepy and, with the recent spate of ghost stories at the theaters, would make a great movie.
