Continuity-wise, this takes place the first season of Eureka. Sheriff Carter gets a call that his daughter is being held hostage at her high school by an escaped mental patient named Eric Brogan. Deputy Jo has a clear shot--but stops at the last minute because she recognizes him. She served with him when she was in Afghanistan. He was exposed to an experimental biological weapon and as a result is unable to die.
Sheriff Carter tries to track him but he shows up at the sheriff's office, where Jo is, and asks for her to kill him because he can't die. She refuses and he knocks her out. Of course, Stark is unwilling to share information so Carter digs up a little secret he found out and blackmails him into spilling the beans. It turns out that Brogan is after Stark and he kidnaps his ex-wife Allison and their son, Kevin. They call in help from someone both Stark and Carter equally dislike, mostly because he has an eye for Allison.
This graphic novel has everything from the show--the humor, the action and the weird gadgets. If you're missing new episodes of the series definitely check this out.
