This is the best illustrated, and worst written, of any Godzilla graphic novels to come from IDW (or anyone else, I think). Godzilla presumably dies, goes to Hell, and has to fight various creatures he primarily fought in real life. It begins with the Big G falling down a chasm, to land in a barren landscape. There's a nuclear reactor and a squidlike creature comes out of it to attack him. Then there's a sandstorm-and a doppelganger that also ends up being a squid-creature. After each level he falls to a new level of hell and has a new battle. Other Kaiju make appearances, there's Space Godzilla, and environments from water to ice. In the end he eventually fights his way out...
This is an interesting premise and is the best illustrated of the IDW graphic novels BUT it's also the worst written and I found it disappointing.
