This first issue of the new Dynamite! series has The Green Hornet and side-kick Kato defeating both the Italian mob and the Yakuza in Century City. Since they are the last of the big crime in the area this leaves him with not much to do so he decides to retire. At first his wife, Janet, doesn't believe him but he insists. She makes him promise not to tell their son about his costumed identity, lest he decide to continue the legacy. Then, it goes to present day to his son Britt's apartment, where his girlfriend, Jules, his leaving him because he won't commit to their relationship.
This comic, based on an uproduced script by Kevin Smith, is entertaining and there's some funny bits with the Hornet trying to make some ill-time jokes. And his wife being a bitch is hilarious. However, I was hoping that this would stick with the original superhero rather than having his son take up the mantle, which I'm sure he will probably do.
