This three part on-line serial, done in the style of the old Pulp magazines from the 50's, is about a trio of outlaw cowboys, Tucker, Bodie and Fix, who are hired by a small Mexican town to rid them of werewolves that have taken over a beloved Church. Their payment will be whatever silver is left over--and they'll need that silver to kill the werewolves. The werewolf invasion is recounted and it's truly vicious. Of course, the gunfighters think they are all superstitious peasants and that they are dealing with normal bandits they can take out with normal bullets.
The story is extremely graphic, both in violence and sex, so it's definitely for those 18 years and above. For example, their first encounter with the bandits is witnessing one of them raping a naked girl on horseback.
The bandit chief, Mosca, invites them into the ruined church, which houses twenty of the werewolves, in human form, along with piles of human meat, bones, blood and traumatized women. He tells them they can take the silver since they don't have any need of it--and also offers for them to join his group. However, there are 15 survivors of the town being kept locked up in the back room, for food. Then Mosca says he wants a gunfight with Tucker. He obliges--and shoots the bandit leader right in the head. But he's still standing and smiling back. Then he shoots him five more times. It's at this point that the trio finally believe the werewolf story.
The cowboys take the silver and ride off into the horizon, away from the blacksmith shop where they were supposed to take all the silver to make the silver bullets. Yet Tucker has second thoughts and knows he has to do something to free those innocent people--and destroy the werewolves. So they go back to the church, this time better prepared and there's a final showdown.
This is truly a fun werewolf story that has all the elements of a classic western. Highly recommended.
