In this 4th book of the DRAGON DELASANGRE series, the events of THE SEA DRAGON'S DAUGHTER has caused a huge rift to develop between Peter and his new wife, as he had been coerced into having sex with one of those other types of dragons. We also learn he also has a son by the Sea Dragon, whom his wife doesn't allow him to see.
Peter's brother-in-law, who was such a dire enemy in DRAGON'S MOON, is now on Peter's side (more or less) and finds a mate in Europe. But this woman was promised to another dragon and there's an organized society overseas that wants to set this straight. This is news to Peter because his father never told him there was an actual society/civilization of dragons living among mankind. It's quite a different world than in the first book, in which he thought he was the last of his kind.
This Host, as they call themselves, want their female returned or they'll kill Peter's family, so he has to convince his brother-in-law it's the right thing to do and they have to take on a group of dragon warriors in battle.
As with THE SEA DRAGON'S DAUGHTER this book continues to open up the series and provides new, interesting information about Peter DeLaSangre's world. Unfortunately, though, as good as these books are I've learned that the publisher doesn't want the author to write anymore books for the series, which is a shame because it's such an engaging series.
I highly recommend you pick up this series, particularly if you're a vampire or werewolf fan, as there's some analogies to those monsters (with, I think, the dragon's being the source of these legends).
