FRIDAY THE 13th: JASON VS JASON X.
Story and Artwork by Mike Wolfer
This two part comic story pits two aspects of the same creature after each other. It's five hundred years in the future and mankind has left a dead Earth to live on other planets (as explained in the film JASON X). Jason X is thought to be destroyed by the end of that movie but he wasn't. When some humans come across a seemingly derelict spaceship to salvage, they encounter this cybernetic creature. Yet at the same time as his reappearance, the other remnants of Jason Vorhees (leftovers not made into JASON X) is reconstructed by the nanobots with the corpses of some of his victims, creating the flesh and blood creature he used to be. Each of these creatures only has a partial memory of what they were and it's their 'mother' who tells them both to kill. So they not only kill any human who gets in their way but end up battling each other to the 'death'.
As with the films, the comic is suitably graphic and it succeeds where the first novelization, JASON X: THE EXPERIMENT, fails. This comic has the 'feel' of the FRIDAY THE 13th movies.
If you're in the mood for something gory you'll enjoy this bloody rampage.
