A few years ago, when I saw this limited comic series on the stands, I thought, "Man, that's stupid". But I was wrong. MARVEL ZOMBIES is an effective, frightening zombie tale and works all the more because it takes these familiar heroes and has them do horrible things, such as Peter Parker slaughtering his Aunt and MaryJane and the Avengers tearing apart Jarvis.
It begins with Magneto fighting the zombies and then getting ripped apart, then we go to where the rotting Giant Man is secretly keeping The Black Panther alive and eating him limb by limb, to make him last. You see, they've eaten the whole world in just a few days and they are very hungry. Then comes the Silver Surfer, heralding the coming of Galactus-- but Galactus didn't count on having such opposition--and Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Luke Cage, Giant Man, Wolverine and Spiderman end up eating him and gaining his power. It then cuts to five years later, with the human survivors talking about how they left the planet, to feed on other worlds.
it's interesting to see these characters in a new (dead) light and the story line is sort of ingenious, having them devour Galactus.
