This is, by far, the best Marvel Zombies series, featuring Machine Man as the main character. Yes, Machine Man, presented in a way that is ingenious. He's made himself look human and goes all out acting like a flesh and blood creature as well.
A group of heroes is sent to a swamp in Florida to investigate an zombie outbreak. The team includes Aquarian, The Conquistador, Jennifer Kale and Siege. Two are immediately ripped apart and then a zombie Deadpool shows up. Jennifer Kale is the only survivor.
Then, at A.R.M.O.R (Alternate Reality Monitoring and Operational Response Agency) Doctor Michael Morbius (aka The Living Vampire) brings in Machine Man. They reason that in order to create a vaccine for the zombie plague they have to go to the virus's native dimension. Once in that dimension, Machine Man and the robot Jocasta encounter zombie Inhumans and a zombie Kingpin who are still existing because they're keeping live humans as food.
However, when Machine Man returns, alone, to his own dimension, it's too late. A zombie version of Morbius has taken over and the contagion is spreading. In the end Morbius puts together a new team, The Midnight Sons, which includes Man Thing, Son of Satan and Werewolf by Night.
