This is from the same writer as MARVEL ZOMBIES 3 and 4. This time Machine Man is partnered with Howard the Duck to investigate the different types of zombie outbreaks in the multiverse. First, it's off to a world that resembles the Old West, where they find Type-6810-- popularly known as a "Romero". The duo pick up a Native American woman as their assistant. Then it's off to the Earth of Killraven, where the Martian killer thinks they are Martian mutates. It takes a bit to convince them otherwise. Then, it's off to the Medieval world of The Black Knight where they encounter "Raimis". Issue #4 takes place in a world where the zombie virus is like a computer virus. Here, Machine Man encounters love interest Jocasta. However, the last and final issue is sort of lame. It has a comic book collecting nerd as a zombie and there's a Machine Man/Howard the Duck Marvel Team-up issue that may be responsible for spreading the disease. It's all a bit too self-reflexive for me. While I thought visiting all these familiar worlds was interesting, I hope MARVEL ZOMBIES 6 is better.
