A scientist manages to create a new species by crossing a man and a chimpanzee. The offspring looks totally human but he is at the mercy of certain behaviors and cravings. When he learns about who he really is from the scientists (who raised him) he is upset and runs away. He hides away in the mountains, living off the land, secluded. As the years pass he lives more and more like an ape--without fire, without clothes, at the mercy of the elements. But when he meets a woman who is camping with her friend he can't help but become involved with her-- and she stays in the mountains with him and becomes pregnant. But, while his own creation was scientifically done and under control, how will his offspring appear? Will it resemble a human...or an ape? Written by Birney Dibble, MD.
