This graphic novel ontinues the storyline from the television series. Ethan thinks he's being haunted by the ghost of Vanessa Ives, though it may just be caused by the feeling of guilt he has about her death. But who is watching him is Lily (Bride of Frankenstein), who has found religion and is organizing a new group of women. Meanwhile, in Cairo Egypt Mr Lyle is assisting on an archeological dig where they've found an undiscovered tomb whose hieroglyphs tell the story of an upcoming battle between Amun-ra and Set, which mankind caught in the middle. The mummy found is brought back to England and comes back to life, eventually bringing forth a bunch of minions/zombies to do his bidding. In fact, his reappearance brings back Vanessa, in a way. There's also a story with the old Native American werewolf Kaetenay, who tells Ethan that he senses a new war is coming in which they'll need to fight. A new ally of Ethan is Dr Seward, who is helping him deal with the death of Vanessa. And last but not least a new team member is introduced, action-oriented Miss Hartdegen, who knows a bit about the supernatural.
This is a great continuation of the PENNY DREADFUL story and is consistent with all the characters. Highly recommended.
