Nix, the albino gorilla, goes to the leader of his old army troupe and tells them that Nerise, the most senior member of the Ape Council, had hired human terrorists to abduct the boy Julian. Julian is the son of Sully, leader of the Resistance--and he's been raised by Alaya, leader of the Apes. Julian and the "terrorist" known as "The Half-man" are being taken to the prison camps--and one of the gorillas almost shoots Julian. He's shot and killed seconds before--by Sully and her group of fighters. However, the reunion between Mother and son goes as bad as it can. We also learn that Julian is unable to speak, like all the humans being born this generation. Meanwhile, in Ape city Nerise takes Alaya prisoner.
It's rare for a comic series to maintain its momentum but each issue of this POTA series builds on the previous and adds to the mythos. Also, I'd like to see this series tie-in more directly to the other series, BETRAYAL and EXILE (though they are over a thousand years apart). From Boom! Studios.
