This takes place after the events of MARVEL ZOMBIES 2, in which the former Superheroes are transported to yet another alternate Earth. In the first issue undead Spiderman finds himself on an uncontaminated world--and also that the powers he and the others gained from devouring Galactus have vanished. My favorite thing is that when he tries to use his natural web shooters (like the Spiderman in the movies) he ends up shooting out his veins instead. He wants to redeem himself but ends up killing Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. And then they all come back and kill all his friends he hoped to save. He goes off, hoping to find a cure.
But Giant Man has also appeared on this Earth and he wants to eat. But the HULK, returning from the planet Sakaar after being banished (as in the events of PLANET HULK and WORLD WAR HULK) gets bitten by zombie inhumans on the moon and gets transformed into a zombie as well after a fight with Giant Man. Then the Sentry, the superhero who eventually stopped the Hulk in WWH, gets bitten and transformed.
Then it's a battle between the zombies who want to eat humanity and those who want to stop the zombie infection. RETURN OF MARVEL ZOMBIES seems rather needless, a retread of the first three graphic novels. My main complaint is that the series doesn't do doesn't do anything new.
