Richard Laymon
In 1888 London fifteen-year-old Trevor Bentley witnesses Jack the Ripper's final murder in White Chapel and is propelled into an adventure that takes him to the American West, where he ultimately comes to a showdown with the psychopath. Along the way he encounters bandits, snake-oil salesmen and the love of his life, sixteen year old Jesse Sue Longley. As with any Richard Laymon novel there's plenty of dire situations and gore and I must say this is one of his more entertaining novels. SAVAGE is a good take on the whole Jack the Ripper story and a fun read.
