): Written by Steve Vance. A secret government agency is keeping prisoner fifty people recently exposed to the lycanthropy disease, experimenting upon them as if they are just animals. They want to find a way to destroy this threat to humanity, even though werewolves have been preying upon mankind for thousands of years. When one of these prisoners is freed by his friends, a young woman and a middle-aged horror author, so begins a chain of events that will affect the entire world. They wish to expose the truth of lycanthropy to the world-but before they can do this are intercepted by a group who represents the lycanthrope elite, beings who are not only immortal and can change into ANY shape, but who can control the animalistic aspects of their condition. In fact, they turn the humans in this group into werewolves so they can experience this first hand. This is an interesting novel in that it presents a different take on the werewolf theme. And it's a page-turner. Those 442 pages flew by in about two days. It's also the sequel to Vance's THE HYDE EFFECT, which features more of the typical creature. This book is much better, though.
