This is an original novel based on the science fiction series from the 1970's, about the people of Moonbase Alpha and how they are hurtling through the universe on a moon blasted from Earth's orbit. This story reintroduces one of the better villains from the show, Balor, an insane immortal. Commander John Koenig, Dr. Helena Russell and Victor Bergman must find a way to stop him once again. I must say that this novel really surprised me--it really does live up to the hype and builds upon the characters established in the series. Rather than continue from season two (which basically turned the show in to STAR TREK), author William Latham continues from the strenghts of the first season. Highly recommended and a must for all SPACE 1999 fans. Available from www.powysmedia.com
