Written by John Rankine, this is an original novel, not based on any of the particular episodes. Here, Moonbase Alpha nears a seemingly inhabitable planet called Pelorus--but when Commander Koenig and his crew land they discover it is being run by androids. And they're not friendly. After escaping their clutches they come across a humanoid settlement, the people who originally created the robots. Because of their longevity they're not able to reproduce, so they come up with the idea of impregnating Alpha's women, so they can carry their children. Eventually the exploratory crew escapes and returns back to their much safer moon. Scrap one more planet as a potential home.
