Author: Brian BallThe continuing adventures of the people of Moonbase Alpha, from Powys Media, keeps on getting better and better.This novel takes place between the last episode of the first season, TESTAMENT OF ARKADIA and the first episode of the second season, THE METAMORPH (I would say just before METAMORPH. As the Alphans and Earth's moon hurtles through a debris field, which seems to be from some cataclysmic war, they come across an alien spaceship with most of them in suspended animation. Their planet was wiped out by an insectile species. Victor Bergman falls in love with one of the aliens-and this comes into conflict when the aliens try to take over Moonbase Alpha for their own survival. This is the book that explains what happened to Victor, something never discussed in season two, why Alpha's base of operations is now below ground rather than in the command center of the first season-and, probably, most important of all, why there's this seeming personality difference with John Koenig between the first and second seasons (he's more aggressive and trigger happy in the second season for good reason!). Best of all, there's even an introduction in this book from Barry Morse, who portrayed Bergman.If you're continuity freak or just a fan of the show wanting new adventures, check out SURVIVAL-- you won't be disappointed.
