In order to stop the Genesis Wave, which is reforming planets for these moss creatures, the Enterprise makes an alliance with both the Romulans and the Klingons in order to save their section of the galaxy. They end up tracing the source to a barren planet which the creatures originally inhabited. These aliens are dying out-and want to create worlds in which they can start their species over again. Ironically, they're doing this because they don't want to rely on human hosts-yet by launching the genesis wave kill more humanoids than they ever have. The thing I like best about the STAR TREK books is that they're not limited to a budget, as in the series or movies, so a lot more 'epic' things can happen. And these two books definitely satisfy that.Written by John Vornholt.
