It's always interesting to read on the other Slayers in the BUFFY universe and this graphic novel delivers the good. The first story involves THE FIRST Slayer, then moves on through time to The Middle Ages, in which a Slayer is condemned as a witch, the French Revolution in which the Slayer has parallels to the Faith character, 1813 England, in which a Slayer takes a very practical disguise, and an American Indian Slayer in the Old West, complete with vampire barroom brawl. There's also a Slayer who happens to be indoctrinated into the Hitler Youth in WWII, an African American Slayer in Harlem in the 70's and the last tale is one of FRAY, which takes place hundreds of years in the future. The artwork varies extremely in style from story to story and each fits. I particularly liked the Gene Colan artwork in the Harlem story, as it really brought back those Marvel Dracula comics. This is a very cool book that doesn't pull any punches.
