This five issue comic series from Dynamite Entertainment is somewhat of a departure from other TERMINATOR based series/books I've read.
It is a followup to TERMINATOR: INFINITY, which took place a year after the death of Kate Brewster. It is now five years after that and John Connor is married to another woman. They have also adopted a very young Kyle Reese, who John knows will become his father. The adult John Connor ends up time-traveling back to 1996, thus changing the events that happened in the movie TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. He meets his younger self, who thinks that he's just another Terminator sent to protect him. He also teams up with Sarah Connor. The artwork makes her look like Lena Headey from the TERMINATOR television series.
There's also the return of the T-Infinity and a new cybernetic creature that looks like a big feral dog, which I thought too goofy. Why a dog? John and Sarah Connor do end up changing the future 2015 and create an alternate time-line, though John is certain he's still fighting the war against the machines somewhere....
While I like the idea of this series I thought it just okay--and since it's clearly another alternate reality (like many of the paperback novels) it's like it didn't really happen. I think I am getting burned out on these Terminator tie-ins.....
