This prequel paperback takes place immediately before the 4th TERMINATOR movie, primarily about a large group of survivors living in an old hotel in Los Angeles. The leader of them, a former businessman, believes that as long as they leave the Terminators alone that they'll leave them alone. Around this time John Connor and his team warn them of the danger but they're not listening. we're also introduced to the teenaged Kyle Reese and his kid companion Star--and this ultimately explains why they're still in Los Angeles when Marcus comes across them in the movie. The novel ends with Kate Connor finding herself pregnant.
This book was just okay but nothing spectacular or particularly interesting is going on.
