In New York City the Roxxon Building explodes when a fungus like creature comes out of it--and the same thing happens with Fantastic Four's Baxter Building. The teenaged Reed Richards and his family are slain when their house explodes. And Ben Grimm, aka "The Thing", had joined the airforce. He visits with Sue Storm and tells her that he's in love with her. She doesn't know what to say, which he thinks means that she's not interested in him. Nick Fury, former commander of Shield, is attacked by an alien, as are the remainder of the Fantastic Four. But who is trying to kill them and why?
Spiderman, Iceman and Spider Woman (she's the female clone of Peter!) also investigate these invasions and attacks on the city--and we're introduced to the Ultimate version of Captain Marvel. Doctor Octopus even switches sides to help them all get to the bottom of this. ULTIMATE DOOMSDAY is one of the best Ultimate stories so far. I was shocked by who the villain is--I did not expect that.
