While the artwork is good and there's plenty of visual gore, the story didn't cut it for me, as it's anything but original.
The story centers around Brad Brazza, an African-American in a refuge camp in Los Angeles. They are all barricaded in a sports coliseum and the dead are trying to get inside and eat them. Of course, not everyone gets along and most of the conflict is between the different factions of people, whether it the remainder of the Army, which takes off, or the numerous gang members. The most interesting character is an old Japanese swordsman who chops up a lot of the undead.
This all seemed too familiar as it's not all that different from any other zombie book or movie out there.
The goofiest thing is that at the end the story skips twenty years into the future, where a group of humans, including Brazza, have settled down and reproduced and there are still all the zombies around, though they are a little more rotted looking. Well, I think that if it was twenty-years later there wouldn't be any zombies whatsoever, they'd all be long rotted away.
