Fourth Of July Horror Movies - Holiday Horror Movies Guide

It is summertime kiddies and that means the Fourth of July is near. It is time for cookouts, beer and fireworks. It is also hot as hell, so it is a good time to head indoors and watch some horror flicks in a climate controlled area. There are only a handful of horror movies and sci-fi movies that take place on the 4th of July, but we have compiled our suggestions for the day. So if you haven't lost all of your fingers in a bloody fireworks accident, grab some food off the grill, some cold beer and check out these great summer horror and sci-fi flicks! You might give some of them a thumbs up, if you can.

Jaws (1975)
A Great White Shark decides to make the small beach resort town of Amity his private feeding grounds. This greatly frustrates the town police chief who wants to close the beaches to chase the shark away. He is thwarted in his efforts by the town's mayor who finally relents when nothing else seems to work and the chief, a scientist, and an old fisherman with revenge on his mind take to the sea to kill the beast.
Cape Fear (1991)
Public defender Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte) served as the attorney for brutal rapist Max Cady (Robert De Niro) at his arraignment. Shocked by the violence of Cady's crime, Sam duplicitously withheld information regarding the sexually promiscuous activities of Cady's rape victim -- information that might have won Max's acquittal. After serving a hellish 14-year sentence in a barbaric state penitentiary, Cady's out for revenge.
Uncle Sam (1997)
He lost his life in a helicopter crash during the Gulf War, but soldier Sam Harper (David "Shark" Fralick) is anything but dead now. Rising from the grave, Sam focuses all his anger and violence on his latest mission: taking out anyone who's crossed the U.S. government -- draft dodgers, flag burners, corrupt corporals, tax cheats and more. The action -- naturally -- takes place on the Fourth of July in this combo anti-war satire-slasher flick
Independence Day (1996)
The ultimate encounter when mysterious and powerful aliens launch an all out invasion against the human race. The spectacle begins when massive spaceships appear in Earth's skies. But wonder turns to terror as the ships blast destructive beams of fire down on cities all over the planet. Now the world's only hope lies with a determined band of survivors, uniting for one last strike against the invaders - before it's the end of mankind.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
It's the fourth of July and four friends are celebrating along with graduation. On their way home they hit a pedestrian walking down a curved corner. They make a pact to keep it a secret in hopes of saving their futures. they leave him for dead and try to get on with their lives. He returns to give 'em, uh, the hook (literally) - the gore is leavened by some much-needed laughs. The well-known cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe.

Aquanoids (2003)
On a small island off the California coast it's the Fourth of July and tourists are washing up dead in Babylon Bay, once again! In 1987, rumor has it that mysterious sea creatures called Aquanoids were responsible for 17 vicious deaths. The Mayor dispelled the sightings as urban legend to protect the local tourist trade. Join environmental activist Vanessa DuMont as her fight to save the endangered abalone on Santa Clara Island turns into a fight of her life. Will she save the island from the latest Aquanoid attacks? Masters Of Horror: The Washingtonians (2007)
Following the death of his elderly grandmother, Mike Franks travels with his wife Pam and 10-year-old daughter Amy to his grandmother's old house where he accidentally finds an old letter hidden behind a portrait of George Washington. A morbid letter supposedly written by Washington about killing and eating children. In trying to verify the authenticity of the letter, Mike becomes the target of 'the Washingtonians'; a secret society of various and powerful people who protect the secret life of the 'Father of the Country', and whom, like Washington... are cannibals.
Killed On The Fourth Of July (2010)
Left deformed after a horrible prank, Karl Chane spends his days working at the Carnival his parents raised him on. Now Karl is getting older, his parents have passed away, and people not only avoid him, but his booth as well. Things start looking up for Karl when he meets 6-year-old Kassidy Rail, a little girl who sees past Karl's deformities, treating him with compassion, kindness, and respect. Kassidy's father, Mr. Rail, puts a stop to Karl's newfound friendship by having Karl fired. Karl, now with no job and nothing to lose, decides to go get Kassidy at a 4th of July party, disposing of anyone who gets in his way.
