Chohen Kaiju Eiga: Urutoraman (1967) While investigating two glowing ball-like UFOs chasing each other, Science Patrol officer Hayata is killed when one of the UFOs accidentally crashes into the Mini-VTOL he rode. The being inside, a giant silver & red alien from the Land of Light in the Nebula M78, feels terrible for the accident he caused. So he makes it up to Hayata by combining his own life-force with that of the Earthman, thus bringing him back to life. He also gives him a marker-like device called the Beta Capsule, with which in times of crisis, Hayata secretly transforms into the giant alien, heretofore known as Ultraman! This movie is actually combined from favorite episodes of the popular 1966 series: Episode 1 ("Ultra Operation No. 1") featuring Bemular (with the climactic fight scene omitted), Episode 8 ("The Lawless Monster Zone") featuring Red King, Chandrah, Maglar and the Sufran plant, and the two-parter Episodes 26 & 27 ("His Monster Majesty") featuring Gomora.

Movie Trivia:
  • This movie compilation of "Urutoraman: KŻsŰ tokusatsu shirÓzu" (1966) was distributed by Toho Company Ltd. as a co-feature for their then-latest SF/monster film, _Kingukongu no gyakushu (1967)_.
  • One of the few films for Toho Company Ltd. (the film's distributor) to have a fanfare in its logo at the beginning.
  • This compilation film was originally intended to be an all-original feature-length film entitled "Ultraman - Operation: Giant" ("Urutoraman - Jaianto Sakusen"), which featured the Baltan Aliens as the main villains. Although a complete screenplay was written, the funding never materialized.
