Darkness Falls (2003) When he was a young boy, Kyle claimed that while he was sleeping, he accidentally woke up and saw the Tooth Fairy, who tried to kill him. Since then, he was considered crazy by everyone in town, except for his childhood girlfriend, Caitlin, and her younger brother. But now, Hell is coming back as that black haired, winged creature of doom that Kyle described is coming back to town. And she's not leaving without Caitlin's brother...

Movie Quote(s):
  • Michael: She won't come in the light. Kyle: Who? Michael: YOU KNOW WHO.
  • Officer Matt Henry: This thing's gonna kill us isn't it? Kyle: Probably. Officer Matt Henry: All this over a fuckin' tooth.
  • Caitlin: Black cat. Why not?
  • Dr. Travis: Are you crazy? Kyle: Yeah, a little bit.
  • Young Caitlin: Remember, when the tooth fairy comes, don't peek.
Movie Trivia:
  • The film went through five titles ("The Tooth Fairy", "Don't Peek", "Fear of the Dark", "The Tooth Fairy: The Ghost of Matilda Dixon" and "The Tooth Fairy: Every Legend Has Its Dark Side") before it became Darkness Falls (2003).
  • In a version of the film, the creature only appears in the final act. The studio was not satisfied by this, so they brought Stan Winston in to create a new Tooth Fairy that would be seen throughout the film. The original design (by Steve Wang) bears no resemblance to the new version, although it is the basis for the McFarlane Toys figure released in 2002.
  • The closing credits run for 11 minutes. This is because without the extra time, the movie would have been considered too short to release theatrically.
  • The "Sensory Deprevation Tank" is actually an MRI machine.
  • The sound of Matilda Dixon's wailing throughout the film is really the sound of an elderly woman's groaning in bed. The sound was both sped up in the parts where Matilda screams, and slowed down in the places where she gurgles and breathes heavily.
