More Movie Taglines:
- A recent poll showed that 3 out of 4 aliens believe... Earth Girls Are Easy
- Valerie's about to discover how far a girl has to go to find Mr. Right.
- An out-of-this-world, down-to-earth comedy adventure.
- Woody: Waste your brain; wax your board; pray for waves.
Candy: Have a mental margarita.
Valerie: As if things weren't bad enough, now I've been abducted by aliens.
Candy: Just because they're aliens doesn't mean they can't be dates.
Valerie: Eat me, I'm a cupcake!
- In Valerie's dream sequence during her first night with Mac, Lectroids from The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984) (one of Jeff Goldblum's previous films) can be briefly seen.
Much of the language that the aliens speak is actually just the dialogue being read backwards (this is particularly obvious with Jim Carrey (Wiploc) during his conversations with Zeebo). For example, 'from' becomes 'morf' and 'females' becomes 'sel-a-mef'.
This movie was the final appearance of Robby the Robot in film for quite some time: 15 years later, the costume returned in Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). Robby was absent from just about everywhere else, too, making only a brief appearance in the early 1990's on Totally Hidden Video before virtually disappearing until 2003.
Ted's fish are all named after expensive cars, including Beemer, Mercedes, Aston and Martin.
Two of the cars from Death Race 2000 (1975) appear in this film. Calamity Jane's car is visible at the gas station, and Frankenstein's car may be seen on the road while Carry and Wayons' characters are driving backwards.
