Movie Quote(s):
  • Young Fenton: Maybe you're not right in the head.
  • Dad: Come in and close the door. Are you afraid? [Fenton nods] Dad: Of what? Young Fenton: Yu You. Dad: Only demons should fear me. You're not a demon are you? The angle said you were. I can't believe that. I won't. You're my son, and I love you more than my own life. You know what's funny about all this Fenton? I'm afraid of you.
  • Dad: You can't make things like that up, son. Killing people is wrong, destroying demons is good. Don't worry, God will send you your own list when you're older.
  • Young Fenton: There is no God.
  • Young Fenton: Dad kills people and you help him! Young Adam: Uh-uh. We're just fulfilling God's will. I'm telling Dad on you!
Movie Trivia:
  • Bill Paxton used the same beer can throughout the entire filming of the movie because they could only find one Hamm's beer can like that from 1979. The sound of the can opening was done off stage.
  • The film is set in Texas and has three Texas-born actors as top-billed stars: Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey, and Powers Boothe.
  • Jeremy Sumpter, who was cast as younger brother Adam, originally auditioned for the role of Fenton.
  • Adam's jar held a millipede, not a centipede. Bill Paxton asked Matthew McConaughey what a good name would be and he answered "Curtis". Thus the millipede was 'Curtis'.
  • 'Osama bin Laden' appears in the lower-right-hand corner of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List featured toward the end of the movie.
