Actor Jeff Witzke Leads 'The Family' in New Horror Vampire Spoof Feature Film "VAMPIRES SUCK" From Veteran Spoof Movie Team, which Releases in Theaters on August 18th, 2010.
Actor JEFF WITZKE is the leader of the pack in the new vampire spoof film, "VAMPIRES SUCK," from veteran spoofers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer ("Scary Movie," "Epic Movie," and "Disaster Movie") who write and direct the project distributed by 20th Century Fox.
The comedy feature parodies several different films, shows and celebrities with the main thrust of the vampire humor centered on spoofing the chartbusting "TWILIGHT" saga, where a teen girl finds herself torn between two boys. Witzke heads the vampire family as Dr. Carlton Sullen, a take-off of the Peter Facinelli role in the original films.
Witzke savored the chance to portray the blood-sucking head of the house, explaining "First of all – the chance to play a vampire – the fang fittings, the creepy contacts...it was fantastic. But then, to poke fun at one of biggest phenomenon in recent pop culture history was amazing, silly and a ton of fun."
Currently, Witzke can be seen opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus in promos for her series, "The New Adventures of Old Christine," announcing its arrival into syndication. The gig spawned from a guest star role on the series last year, where Witzke played a car salesman who struggled to take care of all of Christine's neurotic needs.
Coming early next year, Witzke will appear in the new film "Reconciliation," from writer/director Chad Ahrendt. In this story about a gay father and his son reuniting after 24 years, Witzke portrays a not-so-nice, "special friend" of the father who, we learn during a flashback, ruins the son's 10th birthday party. And, Witzke is currently in series distribution talks for his comedy pilot "House Husbands," that he co-wrote, co-produced and co-starred, which follows the misadventures of three friends whose only full-time job is their daily "honey do" list.
Witzke has built his career by taking supporting roles to a whole new level; as the kidnapper in Jason Reitman's film "Thank You For Smoking" and the uber-Hollywood baby talent agent in last season's "Nip/Tuck." This Grosse Pointe, Michigan native got his start at DePaul University's Theater School and graduated from Michigan State University with honors. After moving to Los Angeles, it didn't take long for this talented actor to catch the eye of the industry and quickly build his list of credits. Some other appearances include the films "Up in the Air," "Juno" and "Groove"; and television shows "The Mentalist," "The Office," "The Closer," and animated series "The Family Guy." On stage, Witzke is most noted for playing Brother Brightbee, in the eleven month Los Angeles run of the smash-hit "Book Of Liz" by Amy and David Sedaris.
