You'll recall that the Mortal Kombat short that everyone went nutty about last year will be getting the web series treatment instead of being transformed into a new feature film. (A good idea, if you ask me.) Details have so far been rather fuzzy regarding the series, but we now know that another actor has been lined up: Jeri Ryan. Makes sense, as Ryan appeared in the short as Sonya Blade.
Ryan, as many celebs seem to do nowadays, broke the news via her Twitter account: Heading to the farmer's market with the hubs & my girl. Then this evening I head to Vancouver to shoot Mortal Kombat! (NOW it's official)
She later added: BTW, just finished reading the whole script for Mortal Kombat. Holy crap... I think u might just love it. Get ready...
Ryan rejoins Michael Jai White, who'll reprise his role as Jax, and Anthony Dale, who will play Scorpion. Kevin Tancharoen, who helmed the short, will direct all ten episodes. No premiere date has yet been announced.
