Writer-director Richard Ledes, whose first two films enjoyed their world premieres at the TriBeCa Film Festival, today announced that Michael Imperioli will star in his new horror-thriller FORECLOSURE. Imperioli joins a cast that includes Ledes regulars Wendell Pierce (HBO’s "Treme" and "The Wire") and Bill Raymond (DOGVILLE, MICHAEL CLAYTON), as well as Jeff Burchfield, Meital Dohan, Brandon Gill, Spencer List, Tristan Laurence Perez, William Stone Mahoney and Roger Robinson.
With an early tagline of "ghosts don't move out" and set on a neighborhood block in which nearly every house sits vacant and bank-owned, Ledes' screenplay is inspired by the contemporary mortgage crisis but is also infused with a dark sense of distinctly American socio-economic history - a history that may be about to repeat itself.
Said Ledes: "Michael Imperioli is a great actor with a deep understanding of filmmaking. Like a jazz ensemble, I can't imagine a better artist to join the two cats with whom I've had the privilege to work previously and who are back for FORECLOSURE: Wendell Pierce and Bill Raymond." Imperioli is represented by UTA and Tina Thor at TMT Entertainment.
FORECLOSURE already has an active life online. www.ghostsdontmoveout.com which features a link to a short youtube film by Ledes, Haiti and Horror Movies, is the film’s official site.
FORECLOSURE will be photographed starting next week in Queens by Frederic Fasano, who has served as cinematographer on recent features by Dario Argento and Asia Argento. FORECLOSURE is produced by Ged Dickersin (CITY ISLAND). The production designer is Brian Rzepka; the costume designer is Kim Wilcox. Editor and co-producer is Lila Yomtoob, and casting director is Billy Hopkins. Josh Braun of Submarine represents domestic rights to the film.
Ledes is an award-winning filmmaker and writer based in New York City. His first feature film, A HOLE IN ONE, starred Michelle Williams and Meat Loaf; his second feature, THE CALLER, with Frank Langella, Elliot Gould and Laura Harring, won the "Made in New York" award at the 2008 TriBeCa Film Festival.
