The world premiere of Geoff Klein's upcoming slasher film "Bikini Girls on Ice", will take place on August 14th, at 9:30pm in Louisville KY, as part of the 5th annual Fright Night Film Fest. The screening will be shown at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, off I-65.
"When a bus-load of women's college soccer players get stranded on their way to a bikini car-wash fundraiser, they decide to set-up shop in front of an abandoned gas station on the edge of town. Little do they know the place is the stalking-grounds for a homicidal maniac mechanic named Moe."
"Bikini Girls on Ice" is a refreshing throwback to the good-old days of classic slasher movies. You know the kind. Back when adolescent boys got their kicks by watching half-naked women run from a brutal stalker (usually wet in the rain), and when the girls in the audience felt satisfied after the sex-obsessed bimbos got punished for their sins. While modern studios keep trying to satisfy the needs of the attention-deficit generation by sacrificing story for ever-increasing extreme brutality, they seem to be losing sight of one important fact: as sick as they might be, horror movies are actually supposed to be entertaining.
With a title like Bikini Girls on Ice, Klein was fully aware of the pre-conceptions that his viewers would have towards the film, and he believes he satisfies those. "We're going to give you everything you want coming into the theatre. You're going to get your killer, your blood, and your boobs. You will get all that you would expect from your classic 80's slasher, but we also want to leave the audience feeling like despite everything they just saw, that they also witnessed a great horror film. I have said from the beginning I want to trick the audience. You can't help but expect a certain type of film with a title like Bikini Girls on Ice, but I want the audience to leave the theatre, going 'wow that was a lot more than I expected out of movie like this.'"
If you happen to miss this screening, then you can always catch the film as part of the 2nd annual Horrific Film Fest, presented in San Antonio, TX, on August 28th, at 9pm, at the Alamo Draft House Westlake. "Bikini Girls on Ice" is up for "Best Feature" at this particular fest.
