This original Syfy movie presents the over-used "bomb-shelter scenario", with a group of disparate people confined in a small space and having to cope with "what's outside?"
In order to find out how astronauts will be able to cope with long periods in space during deep space travel, a private organization puts together an experiment in psychological endurance. Four astronauts are selected to stay in a bunker underground, a bunker that's set up just like the spaceship they would be in. Among them is the main character, Theo (Brandon Routh of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, RETURN OF SUPERMAN), a woman psychiatrist named Emily (Caity Lotz), a botanist, and Dane Cook as Dvorak, who portrays the most unlikely astronaut ever. He's too old for the part, as well a doughy. The movie falls apart after the first hour and only gets worse so it becomes a convoluted mess. I have no idea what actually happened at the end of the movie. But I don't care, either, so that works out.
