This sequel to Kevin Lindenmuth's Addicted to Murder is actually a prequel, and to me was a little better than the first. It sets the vampiric scene before Joel ever makes it to NYC, but not before he starts his killing, which begins on the way there. It also introduces us to a whole new batch of vampires who are out to stop one rogue vampire from turning unworthy trash into ones of their own. It is what they call, 'Tainted Blood'. There is also a guest appearance by old school indy film maker, Ted Mikels ('The Corpse Grinders' and 'Astro-Zombies') who plays a small role as 'The Vampire Expert'. The kill count is higher in this one but the amount of gore remains nearly the same. As you may have guessed, the nudity level is still at zero, which takes away from any film...but I am probably just obsessed with naked women...so sue me. This one is less of a psychological thriller and leans more towards straight horror/mystery. Another well acted and well written independent film gem is always a refreshing change. With more witty banter, this one comes across a little lighter than the original in the series, but still well worth a look. No budget does not necessarily mean no substance.
