This collection of four of the half-hour television episodes are very entertaining. In LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER a man comes home to coldly tell his clinging wife that he's leaving her for another woman. She doesn't take it very well and clubs him to death with a frozen side of meat. The police come to investigate and can't find the murder weapon-probably because they end up eating it when she makes them all dinner! In THE CASE OF MR PELHAM a man believes he's losing his mind when people start seeing his double-and when he finally confronts the truth that there is another one of him it's far too late. In BANQUO'S CHAIR a murderer is invited to dinner in the same apartment his Aunt was murdered in, in order for the police to make him admit his guilt. They end up getting help from otherworldly sources. I thought this was the best episode of the four, a classic ghost story. In BACK FOR CHRISTMAS an elderly man decides to kill his wife before he goes on vacation-but she ends up ruining his plans from the grave. In many ways these episodes are like TWILIGHT ZONE episodes and I suspect that's where the idea for that show came from.
