This is one of the better alien invasion-type movies I've seen this year. A group of prisoners are being driven across the desert in a prison bus when it gets a flat tire. Two hot blonde women show up and it turns out they are there to free the Italian criminal, Brando. There's also an African-American gang member, a Neo-Nazi and a hispanic guy who likes using a knife (yes, all the stereotypes are equally represented here). They are to meet the Italian guy's brother in a nearby town but when they get to the town it's deserted. They discover that in the salt mine beneath the city there's a crashed spaceship - and that it, ironically, is also a prison transport. Unfortunately the occupants have awakened and they are the worst criminals in the galaxy. It's up to the prison guards and the prisoners to band together to survive.
The alien creature special effects are good but the CGI which begins and ends the movie is not good enough compared to the rest of the movie.
