This is an excellent character study of a police detective (Eliza Dushku) who gets adult-onset schizophrenia while working on a child murder case. At first we think she may be seeing the ghosts of the victims of a serial killer, but this may be all in her mind. Or it may not. Cary Elwes (SAW) is her fiance, later her police captain. Bill Moseley (TEXAS CHAINSAW 2) portrays a suspicious character and Timothy Hutton is a wheel-chair peer from a support group she belongs to.
Dushku definitely carries the movie, which is helped by the great supporting cast. The one thing that irritated me, though, is that at the beginning it says "based on a true story". Yeah, there was an Alphabet Serial killer but I'm sure this entire story is made-up. It's like saying a movie is "inspired by true events". Everything is inspired by true events!
