This is a blast from the past, one of the first live-action shows made for Saturday mornings. The premise is that it's 500 years in the future and a group of three young scientists - Jonah, Ruth and Samuel - and their chimpanzee, Adam, travel this future wasteland and help the survivors with their problems, whether it be lack of food or their conflicts with other tribes. They encounter everything from psychic kids to other dimensions, a giant computer that controls a town and even a cryogenically frozen man (Jim Bachus basically playing "Mr Howell"). The Ark itself is cool but the best thing about this series is that Jonah flies around in a jet pack at least once every episode. The series has the feel of PLANET OF THE APES crossed with Gene Roddenberry's STRANGE NEW WORLD.
