The 50's version of this Jules Verne tale is far more entertaining that this television adaptation, primarily because Pierce Brosnan simply isn't able to pull off the role of Philleas Fogg, the eccentric millionaire who bets he can circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. He's too wimpy.
