Although it has some decent actors, such as John Savage and Catherine Mary Stewart (NIGHT FLYERS), this psychological suspense/supernatural ghost story has an amateurish feel to it. I blame this on the screenplay, which is so predictable it's actually a cliche (co-written by Tom Malloy, who portrays the retarded brother in the movie). While actress Elisabeth Moss is interesting, she can't carry a movie, and when she starts going crazy it's way over the top (and a retread of stuff she's previously been in, like INVASION). The worst actor, though, is Thomas Jay Ryan, who I suppose is supposed to be eye candy for the female viewers. Directed by Mary Lambert, who has fallen a long way since PET SEMATARY. Whatever you do, don't look in THE ATTIC.
