A group of college students are partying in New Orleans and get in a car accident while driving. As they are recovering from the crash they see that they ran over an old guy dressed in a hospital gown. Out of nowhere an ambulance comes to take him away--and the two suspicious looking orderlies tell them all to get in the ambulance so they can take them to the nearby hospital to get checked out.
Once in the hospital things get weirder. First, it's empty and there seems to be only one doctor (Robert Patrick) and one nurse. Then each of them is led off to be examined, only never to return. The doctor is up to something, which the sole surviving girl discovers. The doctor has been trying to keep his ill wife alive with highly experimental procedures which involve the need for fresh organs.
AUTOPSY is very much a throwback to those drive-in movies of the 1970's, like HORROR HOSPITAL, gleeful in its carnage.
