This tame action flick takes place about thirty or so years in the future. Turop (Vin Diesel) is a former mercenary who is hiding out in New Serbia who is coerced to doing one more job by a sinister guy named Gorky. The job is to take a young woman and her keeper (Michelle Yeoh) to New York City. However, it's impossible to get into the United States without a passport, which is a computer chip that is injected in your body. Gorky supplies them with the passports and Turop will be able to stay in the US after his job is done.
The trio make it across Russia, then take a submarine across the Bering Strait to Alaska where they are almost killed by flying guard drones. Then, once in New York City, just as he's about to deliver the woman, he is double-crossed. The big deal is that the woman was artificially created and has special powers--abilities that she will pass on with her unborn child. This child, supposedly, holds mankind's future.
The movie kept on reminding me of a pale imitation of BLADE RUNNER, as it has similar themes. However, the plot is really simplistic, the action too choreographed and I didn't care about any of the characters.
