This is a throwback to the 60's and 70's sci-fi/horror flicks, sort of a take on THE BLOB and THE ALPHA INCIDENT. A group of friends playing paint ball stumble upon an old house where a scientist is doing experiments on a new dangerous life form he had created for the army. He's trying to find a way to kill it since it's can't be killed. The army also shows up, with the kids being caught in the middle. The dialogue gets a bit tedious after a while and the situations familiar, but it's all worth it just for seeing the impressive special effects. In the extras director Brett Piper said he spent over six months doing the special effects of the BACTERIUM creatures and it shows...these things are utterly repulsive and far better than what could be done with computer graphics. There's nothing like old-fashioned miniatures and ingenuity.
